My Favourite Summer Face Mists

Facial Mists
I'm loving the heatwave we're having at the moment (good weather feels like a rare occurrence sometimes) and when the temperature really hots up I love nothing more than having a tall iced drink, followed by a cooling spritz of my favourite face mist.  Being a beauty blogger I can't have just one favourite of course, so here are my picks of the moment...

Lush Eau Roma Water
Lush Eau Roma Water - This is a fantastic basic toner from Lush, and one that I always have a bottle of hanging around.  It's very gentle, lightly scented with rose, and has been very soothing for my skin.  The light-weight plastic packaging, make Lush Eau Roma Water perfect for carrying around in my handbag so I can refresh my skin regularly.  The only drawback I've found is that whilst the spray works in a relatively fine mist at first, when the bottle gets about half way finished the spray is more likely to squirt, not good on days when I'm wearing a little more makeup!

Neal's Yard Remedies White Tea Facial Mist
Neal's Yard Remedies White Tea Facial Mist - Let's just call this one the continuation of my love affair with Neal's Yard Remedies.  This lovely facial mist became an instant favourite with me.  It's immediately refreshing and cooling, smells absolutely delicious and is packed full of antioxidants courtesy of the white tea.  I've definitely been enjoying this stuff and will absolutely repurchase.

Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner
Trilogy Hydrating Mist Toner* - The newest find in my collection of face mists, and the one I reach for most often these days.  This toner is a real treat for thirsty skin on a hot summer's day, the ingredients are simple and soothing, and the pump spray is the perfect fine mist.  If I had one complaint about this toner it would be that it doesn't come in a bigger bottle, I've been getting through the 100ml size so quickly!

Do you have any favourite facial toners?  I'd love to hear about your picks.

The Summer Make Up Haul

For a moment I thought it had been a long time since I'd posted a haul of any kind, but alas I was kidding myself, and in fact my last haul was only just over a month ago!  Do I need to go on a spending ban again?  A question for another day perhaps, in the meantime though here's what I've bought recently...

MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Elegant Accent - The latest lipstick formula to be released by MAC these Mineralize Rich lipsticks go on light and glossy, feel very hydrating and have an interesting formula that layers to build up the colour.  I immediately fell in love with this rosey shade; it goes on so much brighter than it looks in the bullet too!
MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick in Lady at Play - The first of my purchases from the Tropical Taboo collection and a pretty bold choice for me.  This lipstick looks more pink in the bullet but comes out pretty coral on the lips.  I don't think I've ever warn a shade this light and bright, but so far I'm enjoying it and what a perfect shade for summer!
MAC Lip Pencil in Ablaze - Purchase number two from the Tropical Taboo collection.  This lip liner is described as a bright apricot, and it comes out bright indeed.  So far I've worn this on it's own with a little lip balm on top and then underneath the lipstick in Lady at Play, either way it's been great, has perfectly defined and shaped my lips and has been very long lasting.
MAC Cremesheen Glass in Fever Isle - Yep, another one from the Tropical Taboo collection (what can I say, this collection really floated my boat!).  This is my first Cremesheen Glass and the formula is very nice, not too sticky but has good staying power.  The shade I chose is a nice summery coral with a good dose of red and the fact its more on the sheer side mean it's perfect to pair with lipsticks I bought.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Rio - This is easily my favourite purchase this year and in my opinion the best thing in MAC's latest collection.  The shade, Rio, is made up of a beautiful deep bronze with bright pink pearl (no chunky glitter!) and is fantastic on my skin now I've picked up a hint of colour.  I'm seriously considering going and buying a back up of this, I love it that much.

Urban Decay and Nars Makeup
Urban Decay Naked Palette - So I finally caved and picked up the Naked Palette, I was wandering around Debenhams, and just couldn't resist it.  I haven't actually tried any of the shades yet but with so many bloggers still in love with this palette I figured I couldn't go far wrong.  I'm pleased it came with a mini primer potion too, I have a full size one of these in my collection but it never hurts to have a back up.
Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg - I don't know why it took me so long to discover the Nars lip pencils but I'm so glad I've found them now!  These satin formulations go on super smooth and a little glossy, the colours are bright and beautiful and they last well too!  The shade Luxembourg is a bright pinky-red, it works very well with a simple black eye liner for a sophisticated summer evening look.
Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Palais Royal - I have a serious love affair with purple shades for my lips and Palais Royal doesn't disappoint in the slightest.  It's a deep rich plum that I can see myself reaching for on evenings no matter what the season.
Nars Pencil Sharpener - not the most exciting purchase, but I couldn't for the life of me find my old pencil sharpener so I needed a replacement.

So that's it for my haul, I feel like it was quite a big one this time, but I'm certain everything I've bought will get a lot of use this summer and beyond.

Comment and let me know about your favourite summer makeup purchases this year.

The absentee blogger

Well here goes, my first post on StargazyEyes in what feels like an age!  My lack of posts hasn’t been for want of trying, but between work and some unsettling times in my personal life, I’ve had a mental block of epic proportions.  Right now I have nearly a dozen posts at various stages of completion all saved on my laptop, but have I been able to find the words to finish them?  Of course not!

I absolutely want to keep blogging.  I love the writing and the wonderful people that make up the blogging community, but the simple fact is that keeping a blog up to date and fresh takes a considerable amount of time; a commodity that seems to be very much in short supply these days.

I’m a little unsure of what the way forward is for StargazyEyes at the moment.  I’d like to get to a point where I have 2 or 3 days a week that I always post on, I just need to work out the best way to get there and to keep moving forward.

I will have some new content up this week, I hope you’ll enjoy what you read, and in the meantime, here are a few recent posts:
