Diet & Exercise Update

I really feel like this post would have been better prefaced with 'Lack of...' as I haven't been doing much of anything recently, but maybe that would have been a bit defeatist of me.

I've had an excellent excuse for being a lazy sod when I think about it, what with moving house and having a very busy time at work.  I've been getting home on a night thoroughly exhausted and ready for a big plate of food and a good snooze.  Of course this has meant I've fallen off the wagon with the diet and exercise routine in the most spectacular style, but now I'm ready to pick myself up, and claw my way back to it.

As usual it really needs to start with the diet for me, so I've gone back to Weight Watchers today, got myself weighed (not too much damage done) and am psyched and ready to start again.

Exercise could be a little trickier to get started with though, I already cycle to work and back every day, and I don't live near a good (and reasonably priced) gym anymore, so I'm a bit stuck for ideas at the moment.  I will have to get my thinking cap on before my instinct to hibernate for the Autumn and Winter kicks in.

What's your favourite type of exercise in the colder months?

  1. Have you tried looking for exercise videos on youtube? You can do them at home, so you don't have to worry about the weather (and you can just exercise in your pajamas!). If you want something a bit more fun, there are a lot of dance lessons there and they're great exercise! =)

  4. I love doing classes at my gym. I find I am much more motivated if I have a set time and place to work out. Good luck!

  5. I still actually go running, I go fell running, so going in the mud makes it more fun. If its too cold I always shove a dvd on, Zumba, P90x and the 30 day shred are my favs :D

    1. I really wish I enjoyed running (my fiance loves it) but sadly I don't think it'll ever be for me. Agree with the Zumba dvd though, and you've totally inspired me to dig out my 30 day shred dvd again xo
