L'Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil

My hair is naturally curly and although there's lots of it, it's fine in texture and can tend to lay a bit flat on my head if I don't get some volume in at the roots.  For a while now, I've used a mix of root-boosting mousse, curl creme and gel to style my hair, and although this was giving me volume and defining my curls my hair could look a bit dull, so I was really excited when I first heard about L'Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil.  It seemed all the beauty bloggers and Youtubers was talking about this light, nourishing oil, suitable for all hair types that was giving them both softness and shine.

I know from experience that my hair can easily get weighed down by these oils so when I first bought a bottle of the Mythic Oil, I was careful to just use one pump and smooth it gently over my hair at the end of the styling routine.  Although this gave me shine and the oil itself smelled lovely, I felt it made my hair a bit flat.

Since then I tried it a few different ways and I think I've finally got it working for me.  Instead of just using the Mythic Oil as a finisher, I've been using my root mousse first as usual, and then using a tiny amount of the oil (probably less than half a pump) through the mid-lengths and ends of my hair, before using my curl creme and gel mix and drying with my diffuser.  This gives me nice volume and hold without being stiff or sticky and to finish I use a bit of firm hold hairspray followed by an even tinier amount of the mythic oil to give my hair that little bit of extra shine.

Honestly, I didn't think I'd get on with this oil when I first got it (which made me gutted since it's fairly pricy at about £10-£14 for 125ml), but with a bit of experimentation I must say I'm pretty much loving it.  Long-term I'm hoping that it will give some nourishment to my hair too and hopefully without any build-up; I use a really deep cleansing shampoo when I need it anyway so I shouldn't have a problem there.

Overall, I'm happy to have this oil as a regular part of my hair-care and styling, but I'm definitely still up for trying other oils when I find them.
